Our History

In the 1950’s, after the Biblical Life Institute (Formerly named Transylvania Bible School) was built, the founder of the school, Dr. Henry Shilling envisioned that a church should be built on the 20 acres across the road from the Bible School campus.
That vision simmered over the years and then came to fruition in 2002 under the presidency of Dr. Roger Rounds, when construction began for the building of a campus church, currently named GracePointe Community Church.  It took 2 1/2 years to complete the construction.
Rev. Henry Clay Shilling, the Bible School founder’s son, was the first to fill the pulpit as pastor with services beginning July 2005 under the initial church name "Biblical Life Church". Later on under the pastoralship of Rev. Dan Culp, the church was given its present name, "GracePointe Community Church".
